General Worker

Description

Job Summary

As a General Worker, you will play a key role in ensuring the success of construction and industrial projects by supporting daily operations. Your responsibilities will span a variety of tasks, from assisting skilled workers to maintaining site cleanliness. Working in a fast-paced environment, you’ll need to be physically strong and adaptable, helping where needed to ensure that projects run smoothly and on time.

This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the construction and industrial sectors. No formal experience is required, though a basic understanding of manual labor, safety protocols, and an eagerness to learn will help you excel. Your contributions will be essential in making sure the job site stays organized, materials are properly handled, and that safety measures are consistently upheld.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Worksite Setup & Cleanup: You’ll assist with preparing job sites, ensuring that materials, tools, and equipment are in place for the day’s tasks. At the end of the day, you’ll help clean up the site, making it safe for the next workday.
  • Material Handling: You’ll be responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials as needed, whether it’s construction supplies, machinery, or tools. Efficient handling of materials ensures that the skilled workers have what they need without delays.
  • Tool and Machinery Operation: Under supervision, you may be asked to operate basic machinery or tools. This includes drills, saws, or other construction tools, ensuring they are used properly and safely.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: You’ll follow safety protocols to maintain a hazard-free work environment. This includes wearing necessary protective gear, managing tools safely, and ensuring the area is clean and clear of debris at all times.
  • Support Skilled Workers: Whether it’s assisting a carpenter, plumber, electrician, or other skilled worker, your role is to provide support where needed. You may be required to hold equipment, pass tools, or complete minor tasks that aid their efforts.

Requirements:

  • Physical Strength & Stamina: This role involves physical tasks like lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods. You must have the endurance to handle repetitive manual labor.
  • Teamwork & Communication: You’ll work as part of a team, so the ability to follow directions and communicate effectively is key. You’ll need to work cohesively with both skilled laborers and supervisors.
  • Basic Safety Knowledge: A basic understanding of safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is important. You should be able to identify potential hazards and take precautions to avoid accidents.
  • Adaptability: The work can change from day to day. You may be asked to take on different tasks depending on the project’s needs, so flexibility and adaptability are crucial.
  • Experience (Preferred but Not Required): While prior experience as a general worker or in manual labor is a plus, it’s not required. We welcome entry-level applicants with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Work Environment:

You’ll primarily work outdoors in various weather conditions, depending on the project. Construction and industrial sites can be busy and noisy, requiring attention to safety at all times. Tasks will often be physically demanding, so individuals with the ability to handle manual labor will thrive in this role. Projects may take place during standard or extended hours, so flexibility in your schedule is appreciated.

Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly wages.
  • Opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects.
  • Gain valuable experience in the construction and industrial sectors.
  • Work with a team that values safety, respect, and cooperation.
  • Opportunities for advancement for those who show dedication and skill development.

Application Instructions:

Interested candidates should submit their resume along with a brief cover letter highlighting any relevant experience. While experience isn’t mandatory, it is helpful to include any prior exposure to construction, industrial work, or manual labor. All applicants must be willing to comply with the company’s safety standards and work in various conditions as required by the job.
